Sophie’s graduation film from the RCA, Half Wet was born from Sophie’s fascination with the water content of the human body. The film follows the central character Gus who realises he’s slowly evaporating to death on the eve of his 25th birthday.

With her trademark off-kilter sense of humour and absurd character design, Half Wet marks the introduction of characters that would see reappearances in later short films and projects. Designed and animated entirely in Photoshop, the film features a vibrant colour palette and a hilariously comedic voice over.
Sophie’s ability to craft arresting-yet-fragmented narratives shines in her short film work where you’re left with more questions than answers but deeply entertained by her memorable characters and visceral design style.
