Working as part of a collaboration with over 150 global artists for Coldplay’s album ‘Moon Music’, Christa was entrusted with a section of their song ‘GOOD FEELiNGS’ to bring to life in her signature offbeat and tactile cg animation.
A love story between two unlikely characters, Christa’s sequence follows a cat and a mouse, complete with platform boots and a leather harness who fall in love through a choreographed dance routine. Supplied with an emotive brief with prompts including ‘joy of movement’ and ‘separated lovers’ Christa embraced the dance theme to ramp up the joy and fun of this global project.
Weaving together the upbeat and collaborative nature of the project with her modern and hand-crafted lens, the characters were modelled in VR and finished in Cinema 4D. Upping the tactility of the sequence, Christa hand-crafted the plasticine and fluffy textures applied to the characters.
The final sequence is an unexpectedly tender, comedic and joyful piece that brightly visualises the themes of the song.
